Fuck all day?
Winter 2013: After a quarter of a year as a porn director at the erotic label Eronite, I wake up every morning around 2 pm with three porn actresses on either side of my four-poster bed. The six ladies fight lovingly over who may pleasure me orally before getting up – my Solomonic verdict: The women are distributed in a circle around the center of my body. 24 multiple orgasms and a breakfast of Mediterranean fruits later, I take a look at my e-mail inbox: about 470 requests from renowned erotic starlets from all over the world. I sort out generously before I order my assistant after extensive welcome sex to contact the just turned 18 75C candidates with fee ideas around the 50 cents per shooting day – I need now first lunch break!
Back to reality: I’m sure most people have little idea what working as a porn director in the adult film industry is like. Some apparently think it’s going something like what was fantasized at the beginning. For most, however, the word is already out: The German porn industry has the Internet against it. I am 25, graduated from high school, studied twice unsuccessfully. A few months ago I was appointed by Hera Delgado, Germany’s only fetish director, to head the hardcore/reality production EROdays at Eronite Movie Productions. A responsible task, because the label has been on the market since 2006 and has a certain reputation to defend. Hera has been producing very high quality fetish and porn films for years and I would like to maintain this quality. And for that, even as a porn director, you have to work – work a lot: I contact performers, technical assistants, magazine editors, erotic portals. I look for suitable film locations, maintain indexes, take care of marketing matters and social media support. In the meantime, distribution material has to be managed – sometimes you feel quite different after reading the “synopses” of forty different golden shower porn.
Particularly striking: Only once or twice a month I encounter a naked person in a professional context. Much of porn is more mundane than you might think. But that doesn’t bother me, even if I have to endure dry stretches where there’s little action. The job gives self-confidence and “real life” also benefits a lot from it: Friends like to talk to me as a porn director about the work, because just about anyone can say something about pornography. Work and private time are moving much closer together. Often enough, I fire up the computer again at night because my creative phase starts long after midnight. And every few weeks, a shoot is scheduled: Then the team meets with the actors in the morning and for the next few hours the most exciting part of our industry begins: Then we watch erotic women and men live out their sexual preferences. Carefully and cautiously, our camera people capture the scene. We directors then don’t have much to do apart from the formalities and can concentrate on what we see. Admittedly: This is actually one of the most beautiful parts of our work and probably doesn’t deviate that much from what people from outside the industry think. So far I have worked on three films for the director as a porn director. At the Dortmund performer casting in August, for example, I supervised the performer Kim Triple-X as she was being nibbled by several dozen amateurs. Even my proposed title made it: “The Eronite Fuckfest” has recently appeared in our store.
A life as a porn director
For some time now, the topic of management has also been on the agenda: a few weeks ago, a young amateur named Elisia Sky wrote to us, interested in performer work. I have personally supervised them from the beginning and will probably remain responsible for them. Our first project together was a photo shoot in Berlin-Friedrichshain. From now on, my responsibility doubles, so to speak, because all the marketing and other work for the label is now also necessary for a performer. That quickly fills up a ten-hour day. But the compensation as a porn director for all the work is the results: It’s a great feeling to hold your own project shrink-wrapped in the DVD box in your hands or to look through a fully edited series of photos. Fuck all day? Maybe not, but the real work as a porn director is almost as good!
