Price negotiations become tougher
Current inflation is impacting many industries, including the sex industry. A survey of 227 escorts and 1,340 johns by the social network Kaufmich found that prices for sexual services have risen and price negotiations between clients and escorts are becoming more frequent.
The survey shows that 26.8 percent of escorts already feel affected by the price increases. Nearly half (44.9 percent) of escort girls fear their clients will spend less money on sex services in the future, while 37.4 percent of escorts say their clients are already trying to negotiate prices down. As a result, escorts’ concerns about their income are intensifying.
There is more haggling – worries are increasing
However, 60.4 percent of escorts have not yet raised their prices, while 26.9 percent have and 12.8 percent will. Of the escorts who have increased their prices, 62.2 percent have increased their prices to match the offer and 12.3 percent have had a price increase of more than 10 percent.
Customers are also struggling with the effects of inflation. A quarter of the customers surveyed say they have to cut back on their sex life because of inflation. 24.2 percent of customers would like to spend slightly less money on sex in 2023. Instead of abstaining from sex, 27.3 percent prefer to turn down the heat a bit. 29.5 percent have already noticed a notable price increase among escorts.
Heating down – sex up
The survey also shows that most customers remain willing to pay for sex services, but within certain price limits. 34.4 percent of customers want to spend up to 1,000 euros on paysex in 2023. 26.5 percent up to 500 euros, 17.5 percent up to 100 euros. Still 12.7 percent up to 5,000 euros and a few (4.6 percent) even over 5,000 euros.

Overall, the survey shows that the impact of inflation is also affecting the sex industry. Prices for sexual services are expected to continue to rise, leading to increased price negotiation between escorts and clients. However, despite the current situation, most customers are willing to pay for sex services as long as the prices stay within their price limits.
It remains to be seen how the situation will develop in the future and whether prices for sexual services will continue to rise. The sex industry will definitely have to adapt to the current situation and may have to introduce alternative business models or pricing structures to continue providing a quality experience to its customers.
