Teresa Orlowski – sex symbol of the eighties
Porn icon Teresa Orlowski was an integral part of the erotic business in the eighties and nineties. Films like Foxy Lady still enjoy undisputed cult status today. Even the punk group Die Ärzte did not miss the opportunity to include Teresa Orlowski’s name in their lyrics. After several scandals and court cases, she disappeared from the scene at the turn of the millennium. What does ex-porn star Teresa Orlowski do today? The Bild newspaper brought light into the darkness in 2015.
Born in Poland, she came to Germany, or Bochum to be precise, in 1979. At first, she worked as a waitress in a dance hall until she met her future husband. In the eighties of the last century, she entered the erotic industry. With her own publishing house VTO (Verlag Teresa Orlowski), founded in 1982, she produced porn films and erotic magazines. The company even opened its own film studio in 1988.
The Foxy series made her a contested porn queen. The name Teresa Orlowski was a seal of approval for porn films and a huge selling point. For years, her name was synonymous with eroticism, much like Kim Basinger towards the end of the 1980s. In 1989 she played the leading role in the music video Bitte Bitte by the punk rock group Die Ärzte.
Absolute cult status
It wasn’t just the Foxy Lady film series that made Teresa Orlowski the ultimate sex star in the erotic sky. The continuity with which she repeatedly delivered great flicks without falling into assembly line work was an achievement in itself. Viewers of her films could see how Teresa Orlowski had real fun with every single sex scene. That’s what made the porn queen. Titles such as Im Dutzend geiler, Massenorgasmus, Cream Ecstasy and Versteigerte Lust speak for themselves.
Films such as Lady Domina prove that Teresa Orlowski also felt at home in the S&M field. But the native of Poland was always up for a good laugh. This meant that not entirely serious films such as Return of the Pornosaurs could also boast the famous leading actress.
Failed producer
At the beginning of the nineties, when the Internet was still a long way off, Orlowska, as she liked to be called, wanted to become a producer. The idea was to establish its own pay TV on private television. The porn channel was supposed to broadcast in encrypted form from one to four o’clock in the morning and would have received high ratings simply because of the name Teresa Orlowski. But things turned out differently. The broadcast was prohibited by law and Teresa Orlowski was left with the immense costs.
From today’s perspective, the matter could be seen as a lucky coincidence.
At the latest with the triumph of the Internet, a porn channel on television would have been a thing of the past. With all the excess supply of free sex videos, a TV channel with annual or monthly subscription fees would no longer be in keeping with the times. Perhaps the producer would have had several employees at this point (a good ten years after the company was founded), all of whom she would have had to throw out on the street. The damage would probably have been greater than it was back then, shortly after the company was founded.
Trouble with the law
In 1993, the Polish-born woman had to deal with a criminal complaint for distributing pornographic material. It did not stop there. In 1997, she was fined for distributing banned magazines. Ten years later, a warrant for her arrest came into force. She had not attended a court hearing concerning the use of unsecured credit cards.
It is more than understandable that Orlowska eventually tired of this lifestyle. The former porn star suddenly went quiet.
Escape to a quiet life
Today, she lives a quieter life under her real name Teresa Moser together with her younger partner. In her adopted home of Marbella in Spain, she is known as a distinguished lady who drives to tea with her dog in a Jaguar. She and her partner can also often be found at the local golf club. She owns a villa in Marbella that is valued at four million euros. The court dispute has now been settled. She does not want to return to Germany. And certainly not on television.
The best way to remember Orlowska today is to watch one of her videos. The lady, who is now over sixty years old, wants to be left alone. More than understandable at that age. We will all remember Foxy Teresa fondly.
