But why dye armpit hair colorful?
Until the 80s, it was part of the common beauty ideal: wild growth under the arms. No one really cared that much about the bush under the armpits. Now we write the year 2015 and suddenly it is again “in” to let your hair sprout, hairless and unshaven is hip!
“It’s an expression of a new body image,” says Dr. Sandra Hufmeister of the Dermatological Institute in Cologne. The scientist assumes that young women and girls in particular are getting off on the new trend: “We estimate that several thousand are already following this fashion – mostly members of the younger generation.” Dyeing armpit hair colorfully is apparently fun!
Is it dangerous?
The dermatologist, on the other hand, sees no dangers. “Health hazards are no more and no less than those associated with hair coloring. However, care should be taken to use dermatologically tested colors. ” she adds. Videos and live cams of hairy women are of course also available – whether blue, yellow, pink or purple.
